The University of Tokyo “Fostering Advanced Human Resources to Lead Green Transformation (GX)” project (Project officer : Professor Shin-ichi Ohkoshi) supported by Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by Next Generation (SPRING) of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) is the program that 1,307 doctoral students participate from all schools of the University of Tokyo.
We recruit students entering the doctoral course in Spring 2026.
– Eligibility: Those who plan to enroll in the doctoral program (including four-year doctoral programs) at the University’s graduate school in April 2026 (including those currently applying).
– Application Period: January 16 (Fri) – January 30 (Fri), 2026, by 3pm (JST)
– Notification of Selection: March 17 (Tue), 2026
– Number of places:
Domestic Students: Approximately 300
International Students: Approximately 50

* Students currently enrolled in a master’s program and affiliated with WINGS are also eligible; however, please note that WINGS students must submit different documents and use a separate application form.
