Ecosystem modeling and simulation (modeling of fish behavior)

Fishery simulator to vitalize coastal fisheries
Holistic approach including environment, ecosystem, and socio-economic perspectives for sustainable ocean utilization.
The comprehensive and strategic environmental assessment is indispensable for promoting marine use to realize a sustainable society. We aim to analyze and evaluate marine environment systems from the viewpoints of physical processes, ecosystems, and social systems considering the interaction of land, coastal zones, and oceans. Main areas of laboratory research are; environmental impact assessment of ocean and coastal development, restoration and management of coastal environment and fishery, marine environmental problems of rapidly developing East Asian countries, utilization of deep ocean water to enhance primary production, modeling of marine ecosystems and socio-economic systems to analyze these problems, and so on.
