1. Announcement of Successful Examinees (Applicants for Master Course)

After the all examination (English, Specialized and Oral) are finished, successful examinees will be posted on the notice board of the department on the same day. A copy of the list will be also posted on the web page of the department.

  • (1) After Oral Examination, a list of successful examinees will be posted on the notice board of the department on the same day. A copy of the list will be also posted on the web page of the department.
  • (2) Next day, interview will be given to the successful examinees. After the interview, the assigned laboratory will be announced on the notice board and the web page of the department on the same day as the interview. All applicants should take the interview.

3. Number of Students Accepted per Laboratory for Applicants for Master Course

The number of students accepted for SCHEDULE A Examination is fixed.

(1) Inquiry sheet was revised due to joining of a new adviser. Submit the revised Inquiry Sheet together with application form. Final inquiry of choice of laboratories will be made on the second day of examination, and no disadvantage is caused even if he/she submits old Inquiry Sheet at submission of application.

(2) Note that submission schedule of application for Special Oral Examination is earlier than Ordinary Examination.

Is it necessary for those who do not pass the Special Oral Examination and apply for Ordinary Examination to submit all application documents again?

It is not necessary to submit all application documents again, but if TOEFL or TOEIC score is going to be submitted please follow the schedule of Ordinary Examination.

What kind of condition is necessary for October admission?
 
A2
October admission is applicable for those who have already graduated or are to graduate from a university by the end of September, 2010. Application submitted for October enrollment with prospective graduate in September cannot be forwarded to or reconsidered as April enrollment even he/she is unsuccessful for graduation.
 
Q3
If I am assigned to the laboratory of a Visiting Professor from JAMSTEC, do I need to go to JAMSTEC, or Kashiwa? I think the lectures are given in Kashiwa.

In such a case, a desk is prepared for you in a related laboratory in Kashiwa for all the semesters of master course. In the 1st year, you need to get credits by attending lectures, you may stay mostly in Kashiwa. The professor (advisor) will come to Kashiwa several times in a month to see you. In the 2nd year, you may go to JAMSTEC depending on your research topic, which will be determined by consulting with the advisor.

What kind of preparation is necessary for October admission?

For those who wish to enroll in October, Oral Examination of First Examination serves as Second Examination. The applicants including those who apply for the Special Selection for Applicants with Profession, must submit the master thesis or the equivalent work until the day before First Examination. Application submitted for October enrollment with prospective graduation (Master Course) in September cannot be forwarded to or reconsidered as April enrollment even he/she is unsuccessful for graduation (Master Course).
